My Refrigerator Water Dispenser Doesn’t Work?

If you find that the water dispenser itself is not working, the problem may be with the door switch. If the dealer itself is still not working, your dealer may have a more serious problem and you should call a GE refrigerator repair technician. If your refrigerator’s water dispenser is intermittent or slow to dispense water or ice, it could be a filter issue. If you find that the water and ice dispenser in your KitchenAid refrigerator is not working at all, check for a problem with the door switch.

If the dispenser switch is not working, the Kitchenaid refrigerator will not dispense water or ice. After replacing the door switch, turn the refrigerator back on and check if the water dispenser works properly. A clogged water filter will prevent water from flowing into the dispenser, so you will notice a reduction in the amount of ice.

Freezing causes a blockage that prevents or reduces the flow of water to the dispenser. Water may stop flowing from the refrigerator spout if the supply lines are frozen, clogged, or kinked. If this happens, you will likely see little or no water flow from the dispenser, or you may also find water leaking from the refrigerator. If you find the root cause of the problem that caused your GE refrigerator water dispenser to stop working, you can move on to more accurate solutions to get your dispenser back up and running.

If you’ve looked through this list and can’t find a specific issue that matches your specific problem, or you’ve tried various solutions, your GE refrigerator water filter may need to be reset.
